A former Tulsa Fire captain admits guilt to animal cruelty charges and hears his sentence.
Randy Shipman is convicted of shooting and killing his neighbor's dog. A Tulsa County judge sentenced Shipman to 4 years probation. He's being forced to pay a $600 fine and serve 80 hours of community service at Tulsa SPCA.
According to records, Shipman told police he shot the boxer with a BB gun to keep it from barking.
The incident happened April 1st in Broken Arrow.
The animal died from 5 gunshot wounds.
Tulsa Fire Department placed Shipman on paid leave after the incident. He resigned on his own two weeks later, according to the department.
