Osage County Arrests Two Copper Thieves

Osage County Sheriff's office arrested two men for stealing copper from phone cable.

Jeremy Allen Young, 28, and Matthew Russell Potts, 36, were arrested after sheriffs were alerted by the Gilcrease Division's Copper Theft Task Force.

Officers from the task force witnessed Potts and Young near 5000 West 53rd Street North, loading a large amount of phone cable into a truck bed. Along with the stolen AT&T phone cable, officers found controlled, dangerous substances in the vehicle and burglary tools.

The two are charged with entering with intent to steal copper, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of burglary implements and unlawful possession of marijuana.
