30% of workers over the past year have called in sick when they were not, that's according to a new survey by Career Builder.
But the excuses may surprise you.
According to the company, here are 3 of the most unusual excuses given:
"My dog is having a nervous breakdown."
"My toe is stuck in a faucet."
"I'm having my dead grandmother dug up for a police investigation."
22% used the days for doctors' appointments, 16% to catch up on sleep, and more than 30% just didn't want to go to work.
But beware, 30% of employers say they check up on employees who call in sick.
