The recovery of the housing market picked up momentum last month. The government reports a surge in homebuilding that reached a four-year high in September. The numbers for new home construction starts totaled 872-thousand. That's up 15-percent from August.
Low mortgage rates, combined with affordable housing prices and lower unemployment is helping to restart home sales. Another government report shows foreclosures have also fallen to a five-year low.
