It's Chicken Dance Time: Oktoberfest 2012 Underway

Tulsa's Oktoberfest ranks among the top 10 in the U.S. and it officially got under way Thursday night.

It's located on the west side of the Arkansas River at 21st and S. Jackson Avenue.

Thousands will be heading to Riverwest Festival Park for great food, rides, beer, and of course, the chicken dance.

There will also be a stein carry competition, a bier barrel race, and weiner dog races this weekend.

Oktoberfest runs Friday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Admission is $6 at the gate. Kids 12 and under get in free.

You can find parking near the event by going to 21st street just off of Southwest Boulevard.

It costs $10.

But for the first time, organizers are offering free shuttles.

You can get catch it near I-44 and Harvard or the new downtown loop. It includes stops at Fassler Hall at 3rd and Elgin, 2nd and Main, or 7th and Boulder.

They run an hour before opening each day until an hour after closing.
