Tulsa Police Confirm Shooter is Dead After Early Morning Standoff

Posted: Updated:

Channel 8 was at the scene of a police standoff at the Days Inn at Admiral and Sheridan early Friday morning.

Tulsa Police found Eliboreo Carillo, the man accused of shooting his ex-wife's boyfriend outside a rental house Thursday, dead in a room of the motel of a self-inflicted wound.

Police told Channel 8 that they had been in contact with Carillo over the phone throughout the standoff, but after 7:30 am they didn't hear back from him.

Gun shots were apparently heard from inside the room but TPD was unsure whether Carillo fired them.

Carillo was an undocumented immigrant with past charges.

Channel 8's Caitlin Alexander was at the scene and witnessed about a dozen police cars and a Special Operations Team, as well.

Tulsa Police also used gas deployment to lure Carillo out of the room at the Days Inn during the standoff.

The Days Inn was evacuated during the standoff.
