Tulsa Chief of Police has demoted an officer and has been transferred to the Training Division.
According to an interoffice correspondence, Chief of Police Chuck Jordan has demoted Captain Shawn King to the rank of officer. King is also being transferred to TPD training division until further notice.
The correspondence states that King violated rules and regulations in relation to unbecoming behavior.
The report lists that King "engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior, on or off duty, in [his] police uniform, in [his] office at Gilcrease Division in 2008."
It also adds that the King sent photographs of the inappropriate behavior to another employee in the department and "caused embarrassment to department."
King has ten days to write an appeal to the disciplinary action.
For the past three years, the 3 Gun Nation Pro Series shooting competition has only been for men. This year, they are opening it up to an elite group of women, and a Tulsa Police officer is one of those women. Ten ladies have earned their spot on this pro series. Each pro has to use a riffle, shotgun, and pistol, and it's not easy to be a master of all three.
