Concert Block Party This Weekend Benefiting Wildfire Victims

TULSA, Okla. -

Folks turn out for a block party to benefit recent wildfire victims.

"Out of the Ashes" has nearly 20 singers and bands performing in the Blue Dome district near 6th and Elgin this weekend.

Along with great music, vendors are selling food and there's a kids' zone for the little ones.

A ticket for the day costs $20 for adults and $10 for kids over 6 years old.

Those under 6, get in free.

Organizers say it's a great way to have fun while giving back to the fire victims.

"A lot of people were without insurance," says event organizer Jason Koss. "I think the number is right around 85% and we wanted to give back to the community and put on an event so we could get a lot of money back to them."

Money raised this weekend will be split up for three different groups.

60% will go to the four counties affected by fire, 30% to volunteer fire departments, and 10% to animal rescue organizations.

The event continues Saturday and Sunday.
