Creek County prosecutors confirm new developments in the shooting death of a man near Olive.

District Attorney David M. Cook told KTUL.com Friday that a juvenile has been charged for the crime, but couldn't elaborate on other details.

The child's name, age and other details about the case are closely guarded.

Roy Varnell, Sr. died after being shot at his home back on August 8th. At the time a 12-year-old boy and another 8-year-old child were in the house with Varnell.

Investigators said the older child called 911 saying that someone came in the house, shot his grandfather and ran out.

Detectives sent the bullet and guns found in the house to potentially match them forensically.

Varnell, Sr. was laid to rest on August 13th.
