Sapulpa Police Officers Struck in Pursuit of a Suspect

SAPULPA, Okla. -

Two Sapulpa Police Officers were struck after pursuing a suspect on E. Cobb street Wednesday, Oct. 31.

According to a Sapulpa Police Officer, the two injured officers were in pursuit of a suspect, when he struck the two with his vehicle. The incident took place around 3:50 p.m.

The incident began with a routine traffic stop near 81st and highway 66. The suspect fled and officers took after in pursuit. Police estimate that the suspect was driving at a high rate of speed, approximately 90 miles per hour.

The suspect's truck is reportedly stolen.

One of the officers struck by the suspects vehicle was pinned between the door and the police car. One of the officers reportedly suffered a head injury.

The suspect is now in custody and the two officers are being treated for their injuries. The condition of the two police officer is still unknown.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
