Bartlesville Man Suspected of Killing His Grandmother

Bartlesville Police have arrested grandson of victim who was found dead at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Police arrested 20-year-old Brandon William Capps at 8:52 p.m. and is being charged with first degree murder of his grandmother.

Police responded to a call from neighbors concerned for an elderly woman found unresponsive in her home. The woman, Clara Jean Hammer, 81, was found dead at the scene.

The cause of her death is still unknown, however, evidence found at the scene led police to believe it was a homicide.

The victim's vehicle was missing when police responded to the call.

Earlier reports show that two men were arrested in the investigation.

Around 4:30 p.m., the victim's vehicle was located at an eastside apartment complex. Two men were arrested after approaching the vehicle.

Capps is also being charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, grand larceny, selling stolen property and knowingly concealing stolen property.
