An Oklahoma City attorney claims a charter school bill is against the state constitution, and he has filed a lawsuit to stop it.
The suit filed in the Oklahoma Supreme Court alleges Senate Bill 1816 violates two parts of the Oklahoma constitution.
One - it prohibits bills with multiple subject matters.
Two - it requires appropriations to be separate bills with one subject.
A spokesman for the governor says she is confident the legislature acted appropriately.
A hearing on the petition is set for December 4th.
