Construction on South Peoria Avenue Project Continues, Road Closes Down

Construction continues today on South Peoria as crews shut down a portion of the road to install a new sanitary sewer.

Beginning Friday morning and lasting for about two weeks, the City of Tulsa will close the area of South Peoria Avenue just north of East 61st Street.

Detours will be in place to guide motorists around the closure, but traffic is expected around the area.

According to the City of Tulsa, the installation of the sewer is part of a project to widen 61st Street between Peoria Avenue and Riverside Parkway, in addition to the intersection of 61st Street and Peoria Avenue.
