Early Voting, Are You Prepared?

Posted: Updated:

If you would like to vote, and get it over with, that is an option. Right now, county election boards are allowing in person early voting until Monday. But it may not be a quick trip. The lines are long, and the ballots, not so easy.

Voters found out, the line was not as challenging as the ballot itself.

"You have to fill in all those boxes and it was two sided, and there were a lot of questions and all these justices that want to be retained or not retained," explained Kristen Bartholomew. She and her husband Lee are leaving for vacation so they had to vote today.

But they did their homework--and it was still rough.

"I feel like anytime they have these brief backgrounds, there is so much more to the story on any of these issues than they could summarize on that little voter slip. People who don't really prepare don't look into anything before they come, makes it more difficult because how can they say I'm prepared for this election process," explained Lee.

We showed Marvin Bizzell a voter guide--when he expressed his concern regarding state questions.

"I really haven't come prepared to vote on all of those. I came to vote for the president today. And I am voting no, on Vision 2 because I don't believe that it is for Tulsa," he said.

The Women's League of Voters develops voter guides full of information on candidates and questions.

But no matter how much you study, the wording may be confusing.

You can write down your answers--on a cheat sheet before you ever get to this point--and save some time.

But still some voters admit in some cases, they may simply fill in the blanks.

You still have time to get in a line and vote, early at your county election board.  Saturday from 8 to 1 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
