ORU Men Finish Exhibition Action With Win

Posted: Updated:

The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles officially tip-off the season this Friday at UTEP.  But Monday night they finalized their exhibition schedule against Oklahoma Wesleyan.

ORU used good defense to hold down OKWU 92-69.

The Golden Eagles were led by former Booker T. Washington standout Korey Billbury.  he was 7-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-2 from behind the arch to score a game-high 19-points.

Five ORU plays scored in double-figures. Warren Niles and Steven Roundtree each had 13 points.  Shawn Glover added 11 points and Brandon Conley scored 10.

"First half we did a lot of good things," said Coach Scott Sutton. "We got stops and rebounded really well in the first half and that allowed us to get out in transition and this team is really good in transition. Korey Billbury is great in transition. He still has a ways to go, but he makes those guys run and they know if they will run with him that he will get them easy shots."

The Golden Eagles face the Minors of UTEP in the season opener Friday at 8:00pm.
