In honor of the upcoming Veteran's Day holiday, students at Tulsa's Monte Cassino School got to see a Vietnam War era helicopter up close.
A YL-37 helicopter landed at the school Wednesday morning.
Students were able to climb inside while the crew explained what the helicopter did during the war.
The YL-37 was manufactured in 1961 and served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1968.
It is the only Marine UH-34D Sikorsky helicopter with documented combat history that survived the Vietnam War and returned home to become a flying memorial to all Vietnam Veterans.
The helicopter has 54 patches over bullet holes sustained in the war.
