Firefighters Revive Unconscious Fire Victim

Posted: Updated:

Tulsa firefighters are credited for bringing an apartment fire victim back from near-death.

The blaze happened late Wednesday night at the Eagle Point Apartments near 71st Street and Sheridan Road.

First responders got the call from a woman who lives above the victim's apartment. Firefighters got inside the lower unit and found it filled with smoke.

They found an unconscious man lying in a bed next to a burning nightstand.

Firefighters got him out and revived him using CPR. Captain Tim Marcotte said the man was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and burns.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause. No one else was hurt.
