Preview: 92-Year-Old Army Veteran Receives Medals 66 Years Later

Posted: Updated:

It's a long time coming, but a ceremony was held for a 92-year-old veteran who served on the German front in World War II.

Olen McKay, resident of Schulter, received six medals for his service in the war back in the 40s. He also received a bronze star for valor.

An award ceremony was held earlier Friday at the Schulter Schools Gym where family and friends were in attendance.

McKay served in the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged 66 years ago. He's just now receiving his medals of service at the ceremony held in his honor.

We'll have more on this story on our newscasts this afternoon as Channel 8's Caitlin Alexander speaks with McKay.
