Warm Wishes of Tulsa hosted a knitting event today at The University United Methodist Church. Participants gathered to make hats, scarves, gloves and blankets. All the items made will go to Domestic Violence InterventionServices .. Or D-V-I-S. The shelter helps women and children leaving violent homes. Organizers say 15 volunteers came out to knit.
"So far we have 270 that have been donated our goal is 300 so we are really close to achieving our goal right now," says Amanda Sloan.
Knitting instructors were on hand to teach new-comers the craft. All the yarn was donated.
