Oklahoma native Anita Hill was the keynote speaker at "An Evening Of Promise" in downtown Tulsa.
It honored Tulsa residents for their dedication to improving the quality of life for North Tulsa residents.
Hill helped bring attention to sexual harassment in this country with allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
"As the Supreme Court reviews the Voting Rights Act, I hope the court will take that into account that his is a strong and precious right that we have that should be protected to his utmost," Hill says.
The event also promoted her newest book about equality.
