Posted: Updated:

Workers at a local bakery join others nationwide and hit the picket line.

Hostess recently filed for bankruptcy.

And in the process cut pay by 8% across the board, decreased health benefits and cut pensions.

Unions across the country went on strike on Friday.

Frederick Frierson is with the Local 65 Baker's Union.

He says, "A lot of us been here 20, 30, 40 years. A lot of people put a lot of time and sweat into this bakery. And this is what they do to us."

Workers say this strike is not just for them. It's for their families too.
