Popularity of Texting Declines

Posted: Updated:

For the first time ever, the number of text messages sent in the U.S. declined last month.

In October, the average American sent about 25 fewer messages.

Analysts say we're not communicating less.

Instead, customers are finding cheaper ways to pass along the information.

They're using other services like Skype, Google Voice, FaceTime, and Facebook Messenger.

But texting is still popular.

The average cell phone customer still sends 675 texts every month.
