This
coming Saturday, November 17th, is National Adoption Day.
It's
an effort to set up adoptions for thousands of foster children all
over the U.S.
It's
estimated that there are 100,000 of them waiting for permanent
families.
Various
adoption groups are working together to maximize the impact of the
event in this area.
Here
in Tulsa, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services is partnering
with Wendy's Wonderful Kid, the KTUL Waiting Child program and
Catholic Charities Adoption Services.
A
year ago the event was able to finalize 4,800 adoptions nationwide.
This
year the local gathering, is being held at the Tulsa Catholic
Charities Campus.
It's
located at Harvard and Apache and the activities will be underway
from 11:00AM until 2:00PM.
