Just in time for the busiest travel day of the year, Tulsa's Channel 8 has updated our popular Weather App to include traffic information.

Avoid construction and congestion on the roadways as you make your way to your holiday destination by using the new traffic feature in the Weather App. It's the same traffic map and information you see us using during our newscasts.

Begin by downloading the Weather App from the Google Play store or the Apple App store. Our app is available for your Android smart phone, iPhone and iPad. You can find the App by searching for "KTUL weather."

If you already have downloaded the Weather App, you'll need to update to the latest version to activate the traffic feature.

To use the traffic features:

1) Click on the i-button in the right hand corner of the screen.

2) Choose Tulsa Traffic and Road Weather as your default map layer.

3) The traffic will load with colored lines on the highways to let you know the speed in that area and icons for trouble spots.

4) Click on an icon to see detailed information about that area.

You can take the travel app with you. The color-coded highway speeds will work nationwide. Just move your map the area you are traveling.
