Admiral Twin Wraps Up Season with One Last Weekend Run

Posted: Updated:

Tulsa's drive-in theater announced Wednesday that this weekend would be its last screenings for the 2012 season.

The Admiral Twin Drive-In will have its final run for the year Friday and Saturday with features beginning just before 7 p.m. and the last one at 8:40 p.m. The theater will then close until it reopens in the spring of 2013.

Back in 2010, a fire destroyed the screen tower which had stood since 1951. With the help of the community, owners Steve Peace and Blake Smith were able to reopen the drive-in this past summer.

"2012 has been one of the best years that the business has ever had and we owe it to the great city of Tulsa for their support.," Smith said.

With their final weekend screening, both announced a special offer of $10 per car. Films include Hotel Transylvania, Wreck It Ralph and Rise of the Guardians.
