Spring-like Temperatures Could Affect Winterfest

Posted: Updated:

Spring-like temperatures could "melt away" a crucial part of Winterfest this weekend.

And that has organizers slightly worried.

Ice skating started last Friday outside the BOK Center.

But it's feared the 70-degree weather might turn seven inches of ice into a sloppy mess this weekend.

For right now, things are looking good. We're told there's a good base of ice.

Special Events Manager at BOK, Jill Duvall says, "As far as this weekend goes we have regular ice skating hours as normal.  Horse and carriage rides from 6-10pm. Sundays you can visit with Segway Santa. He comes out between 1 and 4pm on Sunday afternoons."

This is the event's 5th Anniversary. And Tulsa's Channel 8 is proud to be a sponsor once again.
