Oilers Rally To End Five-Game Skid

The Tulsa Oilers climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Allen Americans, 5-4.

Tulsa let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a three hole to pick up the win. The Oilers took a 4-3 advantage on a goal by Drew Fisher at 17:43 in the second period. Tulsa went down 3-0 after Allen's Scotty Howes put the puck home on the power play at 1:13 in the second period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Howes at 19:47 in the second, the Oilers got the game-winner from Ben Gordon at 10:40 in the third period.

Tulsa found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Oilers average 2.9 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Tulsa's offense was clicking better than usual and put 35 shots on goal during the game, better than the 26.1 shots per game it averages.

Tulsa additionally got points from Sean Erickson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Tulsa also got a goal from Ryan Menei as well. Other players who recorded assists for Tulsa were Michel Beausoleil, who had two and Kyle Mariani, Mike Ullrich, Troy Ofukany, and Ryan Cramer, who contributed one a piece.

The Americans forced the Oilers goalie Mike Garman to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.
