Give A Gift To A Tulsa Zoo Animal

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Zoo is sponsoring a wish tree for the animals.

Each Saturday in December, guests can buy enrichment items for animals, then watch as the animals play with their special gifts.

Enrichment items can be anything to stimulate the animals' senses and encourage them to behave naturally, and can be a pet toy or a cage decoration.

The animals get enrichment items throughout the year, but they are holiday themed this month.

Organizers say the program encourages people to come to the zoo while helping to cut costs.

"This is the season of giving," says Emily Hallford, a staff member at the zoo.

The items range anywhere from $10 to $100.
