Police Discover Burglary Suspect in Ceiling of South Tulsa Office Complex
Tulsa Police arrested a 29-year-old man after he was caught hiding in the ceiling of a south Tulsa office complex.
happened just before 11:30 p.m. Monday when James Estrada, 29,
discovered an open door on the north side of the South Park office
complex on 5553 S. Peoria.
Police said that once inside, he gained
access to the rest of the building through the ceiling and the use of a
crowbar to gain entry to the individual suites.
One of the
tenants told TPD that they identified Estrada in the building through
the video surveillance he had installed. Another tenant was located
inside one of those suites in order to guard from previous burglaries.
officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Estrada located in the
ceiling with a flashlight and a screwdriver. The crowbar he used to
enter the suites also was with him.
According to the report, the
building manager and the tenant told officers that Estrada "had no
permission to be in the building."
Estrada is now in jail on second degree burglary and possession of burglary tools. He is due in court Dec. 11.
