The former owner of the Tulsa Talons arena football team says he has told the FBI that he used to place bets with a man under federal indictment for running a bookie operation.
Paul Alexander Ross told The Oklahoman on Wednesday that he and a number of friends bet on sporting events online and allegedly used accused bookie Teddy Mitchell to place bets.
Ross is not charged with a crime.
He told The Oklahoman that he has conveyed his involvement to the FBI and said he doesn't think he did anything wrong.
Ross' name was included in an 81-page court document that says he wrote Mitchell a $12,080 check.
The team has since moved to San Antonio and Ross says he sold his interest in it.
