Today's the last day on the job for some Tulsa American Airlines workers.
A union official confirms to KTUL.com that as many as 73 workers at the airline's TIA maintenance base will lose their jobs Friday. The employees were are among a pool of 140 to be laid off as part of final bargaining agreements.
The president of TWU 514 said about 110 workers will be brought in from other stations. He said all of this comes after 773 workers opted for the early out.
The other 70 employees in that group have been reassigned to other parts of the company.
American Airlines told KTUL 38 of those individuals are mechanics.
"We are providing career counseling and other resources to affected employees to help during this transition," said American spokesperson Andrea Hughley.
