State Trooper Arrests Man Under Suspicion of DUI, Child Endangerment

A Tulsa resident was arrested late Sunday evening after allegedly driving under the influence with two children in the backseat.

Douglas Gullick, 32, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and child endangerment. It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday when a state trooper stopped his vehicle in an area of east Tulsa.

According to the police report, the state trooper observed Gullick's white Mazda going southbound on Sheridan from Admiral with a broken high center brake light. The trooper proceeded to pull over Gullick and approach the vehicle from the passenger side.

Upon his approach, he observed a "small female child in the front seat of the vehicle." Another female child also was located in the backseat of the car.

During the stop, the trooper observed Gullick remove an Oklahoma identification card from his wallet instead of a drivers license, according to the police report. He also noticed an odor of alcohol about his breath and person.

He said Gullick had red, watery bloodshot eyes,, slurred speech and poor motor skills. During a sobriety test, he was unable to stand on one leg and unable to count properly.

Gullick was transported to the Tulsa County Jail where he refused to take a breath test.
