Fallin Highlights State-Offered Security Training in Wake of School Threats

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin is urging school officials and local police to take advantage of security training seminars offered by the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security.

Fallin on Wednesday said the 2-day seminars are free and held at various locations across the state.

Experts at the Office of Homeland Security help local school officials develop emergency response plans and teach them how to conduct a security survey to identify potential problem areas.

Fallin said the seminars are ideal for school administrators reviewing their emergency plans and campus security in the wake of last week's school shooting in Connecticut.
