Tulsa Police Identify Man Who Fell Down Abandoned Elevator Shaft
Tulsa police have identified a man they say is dead after he apparently fell down an elevator shaft.
Officers say Matthew Rocho, 29, fell down the shaft in a vacant building at 17th and Boulder Thursday.
Police say two men were taking shelter from cold weather Thursday in the former Abundant Life building in downtown Tulsa. Police say the second man called 911 from a nearby convenience store after the incident.
The building has been vacant for about a decade. Authorities say the building contains asbestos so crews are taking safety precautions.
Police say they don't believe foul play was involved in the death.
