The opening of a new bridge on the IDL is causing some confusion for drivers.
Wednesday night, ODOT opened the westbound lanes of a new I-244 bridge on the south side of Downtown.
But drivers need to be extra cautious and pay attention to signs.
Workers will be shifting lanes and moving barrier walls in the eastbound direction.
ODOT Construction Engineer Mark Zihka says, "This is probably the most dangerous times on a construction project, Because you've got to shift traffic. You're pulling a lot of barrier walls. And drivers are actually on a new section of roadway that they're not familiar with."
The bottom half of the intermodal bridge is not complete.
