Thunder Can't Cool Off Miami

Posted: Updated:

If you didn't know the day was December 25th you might just think it was April and the game you were watching was a continuance of the NBA Finals.

The Oklahoma City Thunder go back to Miami Tuesday to face the Heat.  A place they lost three straight to lose the NBA Championship.

The Heat jumped out to a 7-0 nothing lead.  Then they had a 15-3 advantage before the Thunder decided to make a game of it.

Kevin Durant got a bucket and a foul in the third to take their first lead of the game.  But like last year the Heat held off Oklahoma City to win at American Airlines Arena. 103-97.

LeBron James led the way for Miami with 29 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.  Dwyane Wade added 21.  The Thunder had no answer for Mario Chalmers.  The former Kansas star scored a season-high 20 points and knocked down six three point baskets.

Kevin Durant had a game-high 33 points and Russell Westbrook added 21 for Oklahoma City.

The Thunder return home Thursday to host the Dallas Mavericks at 7:00pm.
