Amanda Sue Goodman, 28, Woodward, was killed in a wreck Tuesday morning in Major County.

Goodman was a passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on US 412 when driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed over and hit a semi-truck head on, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the highway was covered in snow. The driver and a second passenger were transported to hospitals in stable condition.

Grace Hanson, 76, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was killed in a wreck Tuesday evening on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike just north of the Texas state line.

The driver of a pickup truck lost control of his vehicle on the icy road and crossed over the median hitting the car Hanson was traveling in. The driver and two other people in the car with Hanson were transported to the hospital, according to an OHP report.

The driver of a truck and the driver of a third vehicle struck by the collision also were hospitalized.

The same winter storm is being blamed for fatalities in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

Winds toppled a tree onto a pickup truck in Texas, killing the driver. Winds also toppled a tree onto a house in Louisiana, killing a man there.

Two passengers in a car on a sleet-slickened Arkansas highway died Wednesday when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck an SUV head-on.
