Oklahoma City -

The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security encourages Oklahomans to "Resolve to be Ready" in 2013.

The goal is to be ready for any type of disaster.

The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security offers tools and resources on their website to help Oklahomans take the four important steps to being prepared:

1.  Be informed about the different types of emergencies that can happen in your area.

2.  Make a family emergency plan.

3.  Build an emergency kit.

4.  Get involved in community preparedness.

There are several nationally recognized community based programs that provide opportunities for individuals or entire communities to get involved including the Community Emergency Response Team program (CERT), the Teen CERT program and the Map Your Neighborhood program.

For more information on how you can Resolve to be Ready go to their website, www.ok.gov/homeland.
