Events, Celebrations Available for Tulsa Residents this New Year's Eve

Posted: Updated:

The yearly triumvirate of fall holidays have finally passed here in Tulsa.

Halloween brought us children dressed up as some of their favorite fictional characters. While Thanksgiving gave us copious amounts of food -- and calories -- for us to consume.

And then the holidays arrived. Whether you celebrated Christmas, Hanukah or Kwanzaa, residents were surrounded by portrayals of important religious events and visits from family and loved ones.

But now the year has come to a close. And Tulsa is readying itself with numerous events for those interested in celebrating New Year's Eve.

You can listen to music, head out to some local bars with friends and even run a 5K.

That's if you choose not to stay inside and watch the ball drop on your TV. But we're not judging.

So here's a list of all the activities going on in Tulsa for New Year's Eve.

Brady District: You can still reserve tickets for the "Brady New Year's Eve Party." Doors open at 8 p.m. at the Brady Theater with music, champagne and celebration through midnight. http://bit.ly/R5Fqfa

NYE at the Mayo: If you're looking for something a little more classy, head over to The Mayo Hotel for a cocktail attire event with DJs and a ball drop. Celebrations begin at 8 p.m.

Something a Little Different: If you've made it a personal goal to get fit next year, then RunnersWorld Tulsa has just the event. Beginning at 10 p.m., runners can head to River Parks West Amphitheater for a 1K or 5K race. Food, laser lights and fireworks are in store for those who attend. http://bit.ly/Tt1GOW

Outdoors: Looking for something a little more quiet? The Oxley Nature Center will host a celebration beginning at 5:30 p.m. Attendees can drink some hot chocolate and walk through of the grounds. http://bit.ly/VkTjqG

Swingers: Not those kind. The Oklahoma Swing Syndicate will host a New Year's Eve Dance at the Southminster Presbyterian Community Center beginning at 8 p.m. Swing dancers can bring a date or a friend and be prepared to dance the night away. http://bit.ly/W7ZP0m
