The Oklahoma State Cowboys held their second Heart of Dallas Bowl practice at Highland Park High School Friday morning, The Pokes are gearing up for their January 1st game with the Purdue Boilermakers.
OSU Head Coach Mike Gundy let the guys have some time off over the Christmas holiday, but he says they got to Dallas ready to work and appear to have no rust.
"They look like to me that they're playing very well." said Gundy. "Their attitude is good. They enjoy being here and being around each other. They understand we come out here for about an hour and a-half and we work hard and from this point on they get to enjoy themselves until the meetings start tomorrow morning."
Starting quarterback Clint Chelf agrees with his head coach and thinks the break has helped the Cowboys refocus.
"We kind of rolled into it and got back into it. I think the break was good for the guys." Chelf said, "Give them a break and I'm sure some were a little sore. I think we came back better, more healthy and we'll be ready to go."
The Cowboys will practice at Highland Park again on Saturday. Then they move over to the Cotton Bowl stadium for a couple of walk throughs. Then they will be ready to face Purdue in the Heart of Dallas Bowl on New Years Day at 11:00am.
