
You can start the new year off with a run followed by a dip in freezing cold water.
The annual Race Into The New Year 5k run takes place New Year's Eve at 11:45.
The starting line is near the River Parks amphitheater.
There will also be a 1 mile fun run at 11:00 PM.
More than 1,000 people are expected to participate.
Organizers say it is a family friendly event with no alcohol.
There will be a costume contest for dogs at 10:30 PM.
Food and drinks will be available after the race.
Another race is scheduled for New Year's Day.
The Polar Bear Plunge begins at the River West Park at 1:00 PM.
After completing the 2 mile run, you can jump into one of three swimming pools that will be set up at the River Parks.
Pizza and drinks will be provided.
