A Jenks teenager will be tried as an adult after he's formally charged with the shooting death of a woman.

Joshua Mooney, 14, faces one first-degree murder charge and one charge of second-degree burglary.

He's accused of breaking into a home and shooting 47-year-old Mary Escue once she got inside.

"The DA's office has charged him as an adult and it is the DA's intent to try him as an adult," said spokesperson Susan Witt.

Investigators said Escue had come back to her relatives house where Mooney was hiding. Mooney told investigators he forced Escue down and shot her in the head.

Tulsa County Sheriff's Office spokesperson major Shannon Clark said another 13-year-old was being questioned in the case, but no other arrests have been made.
