Woman Shot During Robbery at South Tulsa Apartment Complex

Tulsa Police are looking for the man responsible for a robbery at a South Tulsa apartment complex that turned violent, late Saturday Night.

Police were called to the Windsail Apartments in the 9800 block of East 73rd Street South around 10:30.

Tulsa Police Captain Mike Williams tells KTUL.com, a woman was leaving her apartment when she heard footsteps behind her. The woman then "rushed" to her car, that's when Williams says the suspect approached her driver's side window and demanded her purse.

Williams says the suspect then fired one shot into the car, shattering the window, leaving the victim with a wound to the right leg. The suspect then took off, "snatching" the victim's purse and running off through the apartment complex.

One neighbor we spoke with told us she heard a "big boom," walked outside and saw glass everywhere.

The victim was transported to Saint Francis Hospital, where she's listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a 25 year-old black male about 5' 5" with a medium build. He was last seen running westbound from the apartment complex.

Captain Williams says the best advice, should people find themselves in a similar situation, is to just cooperate. Williams says to "give them whatever they want, be a good witness, give us a good description of whatever they look like."
