Update: Cause Of Owasso Fire Undetermined

Posted: Updated:

State and city fire marshals say they're unable to determine the cause of a destructive fire in Owasso.

That's the latest word from Owasso Fire Department deputy chief David Hurst. He said the state fire marshal and ATF investigators could not find enough evidence to determine what sparked the blaze. It broke out Monday morning at a strip mall near 76th Street north and Main Street.

The fire burned too hot and for too long and destroyed what clues might be left behind, Hurst said. He added there was no indication that it was the work of an arsonist.

Investigators did figure out that the blaze started in the wall between Dolphin Pool Supply and Owasso Glass.

Now that the investigation is over, Hurst said, insurance officials will determine the total loss.

No one was injured in the blaze.
