Colvin Decides: Stay At OU Or Turn Pro?

Posted: Updated:

Owasso native Aaron Colvin is coming back to Oklahoma for his senior season.  He made the announcement Monday afternoon on Twitter.  He wrote this:

"I have decided to return for my senior year. Thank you to everyone who have supported me through this tough process. Back to work I go."

Colvin led the Sooners in pass breakups with 11, he was second on the team in interceptions with four and was third on the team in tackles with 61.

"I still have unfinished business at Oklahoma," Colvin said. "I'm excited for the opportunity to be back on the field with my teammates in 2013. There are team and individual goals that I'd still like to accomplish at OU."

Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops was very happy that Colvin decided to stay.

"I am pleased that Aaron has come to this decision and I believe it's the right one for him," Stoops said. "I believe he has an opportunity to become one of the premier defensive players in the Big 12 and in the country. Hopefully, he will continue to work hard to reach that potential and help us achieve our team's goals."

Colvin improved greatly from his sophomore season to his junior year.  If he makes that same kind of jump into his senior season, he could be one of the best in the nation.
