Police Investigate Embezzlement From Muskogee Schools

Posted: Updated:

Muskogee Police detectives investigate the embezzlement of money from public school coffers.

In a statement to KTUL.com, police spokesperson Lt. Bobby Lee said school officials alerted the police to the issue.

Several thousand dollars may have been illegally withheld between August 2011 and May 2012, Lee said. He added that it may be the work of a former employee.

The case is still under investigation and Lee said the department won't release too many more details until their findings are forwarded to the Muskogee County District Attorney's Office.
