
Officials with Westville and Porum Public Schools announced that classes would be canceled Friday.
On Wednesday, Westville schools in Adair County announced that they would be closed Thursday and Friday. Porum schools in Muskogee County announced their closure Thursday.
Both school's blamed flu outbreaks for the closures.
Porum Superintendent Brent Pierce told KTUL.com that at last check before lunch on Thursday, 82 students were out sick. There are 500 students K-12.
Monday is closed because of a Professional Development day. Classes will continue Tuesday, Jan. 22.
According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health website, there have been eights flu related deaths since Sept. 30, 2012.
