Lawmaker Wants Gun Maker To Move To "Gun-friendly" Oklahoma

Posted: Updated:

An Oklahoma lawmaker is inviting a major gun company to re-locate its factory to the Sooner State.

Representative Dan Kirby of District 75 in Tulsa has asked Remington to consider bringing its jobs to Oklahoma as a gun manufacturing location.

It's currently in New York. That state just passed a ban on assault rifles, the type Remington makes.

Kirby says if New York doesn't want the company, they are welcome here.

"There may be some opportunity to bring some jobs here to gun-friendly Oklahoma," says Rep. Kirby. "I thought this might be an opportunity to reach out to Remington and let them know that Oklahoma is a business-friendly state."

So far, no response has been given by Remington.
