Police believe there is no credibility to a threat towards a Sand Springs middle school Friday morning.

Sand Springs officials were notified by a juvenile Thursday evening of the possibility of a gun being brought to Clyde Boyd Middle School Friday.

Sand Springs Deputy Chief of Police Mike Carter told KTUL.com that as of 9 a.m. there is no credible threat to the school or a definitive suspect.

Carter said he believes the story is driving itself and that there is not enough reason to take the kids out of the middle school.

Carter said his kids "are in school today" speaking on the severity of the threat.

Sand Springs Superintendent Lloyd Snow's office told Channel 8 that there is no active situation at the school and that it will remain in session.

Police will continue to work with the school to evaluate any further action.
