Sweet Deal Coming For Hostess, Twinkies?

Posted: Updated:

Here's good news for Tulsans with a sweet tooth for Twinkies.

Hostess - the former maker of  the treat - could soon have a buyer for the iconic treat.

Sources say two firms are the likely winners of this round of negotiations to buy .

Hostess announced in November it was shutting down following a bakers' union strike.

That led to a run on all Hostess products here and across the country.

Hostess and Wonderbread have had a presence in Tulsa for decades. The plant could stay open at part of a deal with a Georgia company called Flowers Foods.

The deal does not bring back 180 jobs lost in November when Hostess decided to shut down.
